Management Policy for Group Health

I. PURPOSE

Purpose:  The general purpose of this policy to be compliant with MN Statute 124E.12 subdivision 5 and to inform of the process Schoolcraft Learning Community (SLC) takes in procuring group health insurance.  

II. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

As a MN Charter School providing instruction that provides group health insurance coverage for employees shall:

1. SLC through Insure Forward will request proposals for group health insurance coverage from a minimum of at least three sources, every two years; and

1.1. SLC through Insure Forward will use a sealed proposal process including:

1.1.1. proposals will be received in a sealed envelope and in response to a invitation to bid issued by Insure Forward

1.1.2. all proposals will be opened at the same time by Insure Forward and SLC. 

1.1.3. upon the opening of the sealed bids, they will become public data.

1.1.4. Insure Forward will review the proposals with SLC for award of the contract.  

2. SLC will notify employees covered by the group health insurance coverage before the effective date of the changes in the group coverage policy contract.

2.1 notification will take place to covered employees via email and announcement.
